Today was our first day on the field in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. Our medical clinic was held at what will soon be a new church plant called Love of Christ Baptist Church. It's a church plant of Central Baptist Church here in Dnipropetrovsk.

After leaving from Vaughn Forest Church on Wednesday at 1 p.m., we have officially arrived in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine on Thursday at 8:15 p.m. local time. Both groups’ travels went off without a hitch. We didn’t lose any passports, people or miss any connections and all our flights left right on time. It was picture perfect up until the moment we went to pick up our luggage at baggage claim. One by one everyone’s suitcases came down the line and the door closed leaving Howard Payne and myself without a suitcase.

Here we go! Team two now has officially left the church and we are on our way to Atlanta to get on flight 1 of 3 that will takes us to Ukraine. Our flight leaves from Atlanta at 6:47 p.m. (central) headed to Amsterdam arriving around 3:40 a.m. (central). We will be on Delta Air Lines Flight 32. Due to the power of the internet, if you're up tonight and wondering where we are at in the first leg of our journey, click this link! You can follow us along as we head to Ukraine.

We are leaving out in two groups today from Vaughn Forest Church in Montgomery, AL. The first group consists of Lee Franklin, Helen Taylor and Debbie Rawlinson. Our group leader Lawrence Phipps will be driving them to the Atlanta airport to see them off before meeting back with the other group to travel out with them.

I'm a self-admitted packing procrastinator which is strange for me. If you know me well, I'm not one to procrastinate much at all but I'm getting picked up at 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, so that means I have at least 12 hours from now before I start packing! To make you feel better, I did throw all my dirty clothes in the washing machine so they'll be ready tomorrow.

As I write this early on Thursday morning, April 24, I know that one week from today at this time I will be almost to Ukraine. My flight lands at 10:40 a.m. in Amsterdam, Netherlands which is 3:40 a.m. central time. From there I'm flying to Kiev and arriving at 5:05 p.m. which is 9:05 a.m. central time. From there we will be flying into our destination of Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine at 8:30 p.m., 12:30 p.m. central.
