Christmas

We are so excited for the Christmas Season 2021 at Vaughn Forest Church! Each year, we love getting to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with you in a big way and this year we have some incredible events and opportunities in store for you and your family. Below, you will find all the info you need to keep in the know on everything happening at Vaughn Forest this Christmas Season!

The Promise of Christmas

We will kick off our Christmas Season with the start of our Christmas Message Series, “The Promise of Christmas”, on Sunday, November 28, at 9:30 and 11 AM and continue all December long. We will be taking a look at some of the Old Testament prophecies about the coming of Jesus Christ and learning about how they were fulfilled by the baby in a manger over 2000 years ago, as well as how the story of Christmas applies to our lives today. We know you will love this message series!

Be a Light Christmas Offering

Each year during the Christmas Season Vaughn Forest Church gives above and beyond to special initiatives to further the gospel of Jesus Christ. This year, we are focusing on being a light to our community and beyond through 5 different focuses. To learn more about our “Be a Light” Christmas Offering, check out the video below as Pastor Adam explains how your gifts will shine the light of Jesus to the world around us.

Compassion Weekend

Join us at Vaughn Forest Church on Saturday, December 4 from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM and Sunday, December 5 from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM for the Compassion Journey, a part of our “Be A Light” Christmas Offering as we shine the light of Jesus to the world around us.

The reality that most of us live our lives in sharp contrast to how others in our world live theirs can be a challenging idea for us to grasp. Even more challenging is sharing this contrast with our children. The Compassion Journey experience connects visitors to some of the realities for children growing up in extreme poverty. What do they eat? What do they fear? What do they dream about? What are their prayers? This experience will help families create conversations that help educate and can ignite compassion for the least of these. It’s a chance to see life from a completely different perspective.

The Compassion Journey is an audio-guided trip through six learning stations that share with visitors the environments and some of the unique challenges that face those growing up under the weight of extreme poverty. It also provides a chance to reflect and share in short break-out style conversations about what each one in your group is taking in. This event allows visitors to dive a bit deeper into topics of global hunger, living environments and the conditions children in poverty face every day. It is our hope that this experience will play a role in challenging us all to become more aware of the challenges that exist for children growing up on less than $2/day. The event is free and appropriate for all ages.

We cannot wait to see you for the Compassion Journey at Vaughn Forest Church!

Christmas Party

The Christmas fun will continue on Sunday, December 12, with our Sunday Morning Christmas Party! Your family will have a blast celebrating the season with a live nativity, free Christmas Family Photo Booths (with professional photographers!), characters for kids (including Olaf, R2D2, Minions, and Goofy), Christmas music, and more. The fun will start at 9:00 AM that morning and continue throughout our time together at church until about 12:30. Invite your friends and come join us!

Christmas Eve Service

Finally, join us on Christmas Eve, December 24, at 5:00 PM for a special candlelight service as we celebrate the birth of Christ together with some of your favorite Christmas songs, a brief message from Pastor Adam, and a special time of lighting candles together (one for every person who attends.) We know this will be the highlight of your Christmas season!
