The Bible tells us that the best example we can see of Jesus’s relationship with the Church is marriage between a husband and wife. Paul writes in Colossians chapter 3 that the relationship calls for sacrificial love on the part of the husband, who represents Christ, and humble submission on the part of the wife, who represents the Church. The problem is that sacrifice and submission can seem like outdated ideas in this day and age. And raising kids to be obedient? It sounds impossible. So how do we stick to God’s family plan in a time where everything in our culture is telling us to go the opposite way?
