Some of the things that Jesus says in the Sermon on the Mount are hard to talk about. Like, really hard to talk about. Sexual purity can be one of those things. Jesus doesn’t pull any punches, however, and He is clear with us on the fact that God expects us to exhibit purity in all of our relationships. With phrases like “if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out” and “if you hand causes you to sin, cut it off”, we can clearly see that the subject of purity matters a great deal to the heart of God…but we live in a culture that so often celebrates the opposite.
