One Week To Go

As I write this early on Thursday morning, April 24, I know that one week from today at this time I will be almost to Ukraine. My flight lands at 10:40 a.m. in Amsterdam, Netherlands which is 3:40 a.m. central time. From there I’m flying to Kiev and arriving at 5:05 p.m. which is 9:05 a.m. central time. From there we will be flying into our destination of Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine at 8:30 p.m., 12:30 p.m. central.

onemoreweekWhile in Ukraine I’ll be filming the mission trip in order to produce a long form video about missions in Ukraine, along with a short form 3-5 minute to be shown in churches. I’ll also be trying to blog daily about what we are doing right here on this site including some of that video and pictures if possible. I’ll be posting info via my social media outlets along with those of Vaughn Forest Church.

I’ve bought a new lens for my DSLR camera that will increase it’s depth of field and a new battery so that I have a second one ready. I have a nice shotgun mic and a monopod that I’ll be toting too. Last but not least, I’m carrying a GoPro that should be arriving today that will help to take some unique point of view shots.

I’ll also be working with the Alabama Baptist newspaper in sending them content daily for them to use as they see fit. Specifically I’ll be writing a story that will probably be published later in May about the trip along with any other opportunities for stories. On Wednesday, May 7, I might have a unique opportunity to pursue a story that I will have to share more about later…if it works out.

Please be in prayer for our entire trip, but also specifically for the stories I hope to be able to share that come from this. The ultimate goal is that God be glorified through the entire trip and that the stories inform and inspire others to action in accomplishing the great commission.
