if we do not give up.”
-Galatians 6:9
Happy summer to all. I trust you are enjoying the break that summertime brings. Where we get out of our normal rhythm and routine at home, work and even at church. Due to family vacations and travel, incredible weather with tons of daylight and all the other variables and distractions, sometimes even the most loyal church attenders’ finds themselves missing church gatherings. Enjoy the downtime, but be sure to re-engage when the time is right!
Most of all, don’t let these variables keep you from a growing relationship with God, and a consistent time of prayer and fasting. I find fasting to be one of the quickest ways for me to realign my life with God’s purpose and to hear His directions. We don’t do it out of legalism or ritual, just a deep desire for a more intimate relationship with Christ where we let Him know, He comes first.
And don’t forget to pray for your church! In the next seven days, both the Pastor Search Team and the Student Pastor Search Team will be meeting with Vanderbloemen to go over the finalist for those two positions. Pray for those meetings, but even more so, pray for these two teams and the individual members as they look at resumes, watch sermons and teachings and pray for God to reveal who He wants as the next Pastor and Student Pastor at Vaughn Forest. Stay tuned to the Shoutouts for more information.
Also, thank you for your continued generosity during the summer months. The work continues and your gifts allow us to continue Building Lives that Honor God. If you would like to make a contribution, you can do it online at www.vaughnforest.com.
