This Week’s Prayer and Fasting

This season of prayer and fasting has come at such a profound time for me and my family and our walk with the Lord! We have been in a prolonged season of pain, hardship, and trials of many kinds. The details aren’t important, but our experience with the Lord is!

The Lord drew my heart to prayer and fasting about a month before we began as a church family, and although life has been hard, and seems to just get harder, the Lord has been faithful and continued to show his lovingkindness in abundance. These verses I call to mind that resound the most in my heart.

“I remember my affliction and my wandering,

    the bitterness and the gall.

 I well remember them,

    and my soul is downcast within me.

 Yet this I call to mind

    and therefore I have hope:

 Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed,

    for his compassions never fail.

 They are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.

 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion;

    therefore I will wait for him.”

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,

    to the one who seeks him”

-Lamentations 3:19-25

We may walk through hard times. We may suffer hardship. We may never understand or see the why, but what we can count on is the Lord’s great love for us. His compassion that will never fail. His mercy that is new with every sunrise. His Faithfulness that is so great! He is everything we need.

As we walk through this season as a church, praying together, and fasting corporately, let us not lose sight of Him. Let us not stop seeking Him daily! His Kingdom and His Names renown should be the aim of our hearts! Not our will, but Yours be done, Lord!
