Big Things This Summer!

Well, Summer has arrived and we have BIG THINGS going on in the Forest! Even as I type this, our Student Ministry is away at camp this week and our Student Pastor Kenny Miller has told me that we have already had one student ask Christ into their heart. Praise God! Keep praying for the students throughout this week and know that more is right around the corner!

And by “right around the corner”, I mean that Vacation Bible School 2017 is happening next week! I love VBS here in the Forest. It’s great to see so many of our kids and volunteers having a blast as they learn about the fierce love that Jesus has for them. VBS is open to all kids entering kindergarten through entering 6th grade and will take place NEXT WEEK, June 5th through June 9th, from 9:00 am until 12:15 PM each day. If you are interested in being a part of VBS 2017, please click here!

Even as we all make plans to take breathers this Summer and enjoy some of the downtimes, I want you to know that we are not letting off the gas of ministry here in the Forest! This past Sunday we talked about a special opportunity that we all have to get involved serving here at VFC that we are calling “Summer Serve.” It is a short-term commitment lasting from now until right after Labor Day where you can test out and see some of the different areas that you can serve in. For more info and to sign up, click here! Who knows, you may find an area that you love serving in!

We had so many of you show up for our first Saturate Prayer Walk this past week! I am pumped about what God is going to do through Saturate in our neighborhoods and in the River Region. To sign up for the next Saturate prayer walks or for more info, please click here.

Finally, Father’s Day is right around the corner and we have something really fun planned for all of our Dads. We are partnering with the Montgomery Biscuits to give away a free ticket to a baseball game to every dad that joins us on Father’s Day! Make sure you invite all the dads in your life to join us on Sunday, June 18th. Big Mo might even be here!

As always, it is a joy to be your pastor and I am so proud of what God is doing through you here in the Forest. I love you all! Live sent!
