For Kids

Vaughn Forest Church provides friendly, well-staffed Preschool (6 months – Kindergarten) and Children’s (Grades 1-5) areas where your child’s safety and growth are at the forefront of all that we do. When you arrive at Vaughn Forest, a greeter will be happy to escort you to these areas.

We know how important your child’s safety is and we take it very seriously. We have a simple but secure check-in system that our volunteers will be happy to help you get set up with. After check-in, you can drop your child off in a well-staffed room where they can have fun, learn, and grow.

KidzForesT (Grades 1-5) is held every Sunday at both the 9:30 and 11:00 a.m. service times. Both groups have children’s worship every Sunday. This is a fun, low-pressure time for the kids where they can be with their friends and grow spiritually. An appropriate message is given each week that will match your child’s age and attention span along with music and games. Your kid will love it!

We believe life change happens in a community. We are committed to being people who do life together. Our life groups are our most effective way for adults to be connected relationally and to grow spiritually as part of Vaughn Forest Church. These groups meet on campus and off campus at a variety of times.

Our goals are to study the Bible together and then apply the lessons to our daily lives in order to find more fulfillment in life, build better homes and families, help others discover the joy found in the Christian life.

Check out the different life groups here.

If you are interested in joining the band, you are more than invited to come! Contact our Creative Arts Pastor Chad Boak to schedule an audition time. Our band practices on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m.

We know that many of you will only be in the Montgomery area for a short time, however, we want to welcome you to plug into what God is doing at Vaughn Forest. There is really no better way to plug in than to serve.  Whether you are interested in leading/hosting a life group, working with kids and students or helping with the tech team, we have a place for you.

Click this link to view different volunteer opportunities or you can fill out a connect card when you come to a service and check “Finding a place to volunteer” and someone from our staff team will follow up with you about how to get plugged in.

In Their Own Words…

Hear from military families who have become part of the Vaughn Forest family while stationed here in Montgomery.
“As a military family new to the area, we were looking for a church that was Bible-based, had a close community of believers and offered a strong children’s ministry. Vaughn Forest provided all these things and more. Our kids love the children’s ministry, we found and joined a Life group that has encouraged us in our faith and we feel Vaughn Forest is actively working to reach Montgomery for Christ. There are also alot of active duty and retired military at Vaughn Forest which has made it easy for us to connect with this church. We are very blessed and fortunate to be apart of this community of believers.”
Buck Gardenier
“When we first visited Vaughn Forest Church we were genuinely welcomed and enjoyed the relevant biblical teaching and worship.  The preschool staff quickly learned about our family and cared enough to message us if our kids were sick and missed a service. Serving in the youth ministry and hosting an adult life group was how we truly got involved, and helped us really connect and make disciples.  Vaughn Forest has been an incredible church where we made many friends and grew much stronger in Christ; leaving Vaughn will be one of the hardest parts of our next PCS.”
Morgan Lohse
“Vaughn Forest Church has been a blessing to our family from the moment we walked through the doors.  We were all greeted warmly and made to feel very welcome and comfortable as we settled our daughters into their respective classes—Kids Forest and Youth—and then introduced to our own potential Sunday School Class.  It felt like a perfect fit for us so, though the church offers a plethora of adult Bible study class options, we chose to stay in the Sellars class.  Between that class, the regular Sunday service, and our Wednesday evening Life Group, we have felt plugged in from the start and our daughters have equally enjoyed and benefited from the children’s and youth programs.  Our stay here in Montgomery is the quick 10 month AWC “just passing through,” but VFC is making our time here feel as though we’ve been here for years and wishing that we were able to stay longer. VFC is willing and happy to embrace even the short timers rather than discriminating because we are here for such a short time or making us to feel unwelcome.  We have felt like part of the VFC family from day one.”
Andrew Pate
“Vaughn Forest is a dynamic and thriving Bible-based church!!  As an active duty military family with 12 PCS moves, we fully understand that our time in one location goes by too fast.  As such, we actively look for a church where we can quickly “plug in.”  We’ve found everything we need at Vaughn:  a welcoming Sunday morning Bible study, an authentic life group, and a vibrant children’s ministry.  Whether in Montgomery for a year for school or a 3 year tour, Vaughn Forest provides many opportunities to get “plugged in” and serve.”
Colin Sindol
“My family and I visited Vaughn Forest Church in 2013 when we moved here for AWC. We immediately connected with members in our life group and plugged right in.  Our kids got involved with the youth and we all enjoy the great worship services and teaching. We found a church home and a place that we could worship, connect, grow, and serve!  We were fortunate to be able to stay after AWC and are excited about all the Lord is doing at VFC. If you need a church home while here in school at Maxwell AFB, please come see us and check us out!”
Bobby Woods
“Vaughn Forest Church has the services and facilities of a large church with the personal connections of a small church.  They really understand what it is like for military couples to PCS to a new place and try to get plugged in to the local community.  Several Vaughn Forest staff members and volunteers are either currently in the military or veterans/retirees and that really helps in getting to know folks that have walked in your shoes before.  Also, Vaughn Forest is a racially diverse church with significant numbers of members who are Black, Asian, White, and Hispanic, so my wife and I feel comfortable attending here as an interracial couple.  In addition, if you live in Deer Creek or Pike Road, the location is very convenient so you can get there quickly and not have to fight traffic.  Whether you are single or married, a ‘Geo-bachelor’ or have a big family, Vaughn Forest Church has the relationships and activities to keep your spiritual walk going strong while you serve in the area.”
