Day 2
I am the Holy Spirit, Rain
He shall come down like rain upon the grass before mowing,
like showers that water the earth.
Psalm 72:6
I am the Holy Spirit who will rainon those who are famished; I give refreshing life. I am Rain to those who have stopped growing; I can replenish their leaves and roots. I am Rain to those who have stopped producing fruit; I can make them fruitful again. Let Me rain on you.
Your Prayer
Lord, rain on my parched soul. Rain on the dry ground that surrounds
me. Revitalize my branches, let my leaves soak up Your life-giving water,
and make me fruitful again. Let the streams overflow their banks.
I am Rain to those who are thirsty; I will satisfy your thirst. You don’t have to die in the desert for lack of water. But, you must come to Me as empty pots because only I can fill you. Drink of Me, the Holy Spirit; that’s an active choice you must make. “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink” (John 7:37). I, the Holy Spirit, am Rain to signify My blessing on My people. The opposite is also true; when My people reject Me, I shut up Heaven. My streams of living water no longer flow. Crops don’t grow and there’s nothing to eat. When My people reject Me, I, the Holy Spirit, will not rain on them. I am Rain. Why wouldn’t everyone want Rain?
Your Response
Lord, I’ve been thirsty long enough; I’ll not suffer through another day.
Show me any sin that’s hidden in my heart. I repent of all my
transgressions. I’m coming to You for life-giving water. Rain refreshes
me. A cool drink of water is even better. Amen.
