Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire,

and one sat upon each of them.

Acts 2:3

I. the Holy Spirit, am the Divided Tongues of Fire that came upon the disciples in the Upper Room on the Day of Pentecost. They had been praying for 40 days when I came upon them. The sign of My tongues in the air was not illusionary; it was real. I, the Holy Spirit, entered their lives and spoke through them with different languages. Jesus had told them to preach the gospel to all people: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [ethnic groups]” (Matthew 28:19). So I, the Holy Spirit, gave them different languages to speak to all people. This means that I can give you the ability to speak to those who are not Christians. But more than knowledge of a foreign language, I, the Holy Spirit, convict of sin, exalt Jesus and draw people to salvation. Let Me, the Holy Spirit, speak through your tongue today.

Your Prayer

Holy Spirit, come fill my life with Your presence. Speak through my

words to my unsaved friends and associates.

I, the Divided Tongues of Fire,can purify you just as fire burns away impurities. I, the Holy Spirit, can cleanse your tongue, and clean up your thoughts. You can speak the pure Word of God from a clean heart. And just as fire burns everything it touches, I, the Holy Spirit, can cause the message to burn in the hearts of those who listen to you.
